RBE Partner Tony Jost Receives Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America

Congratulations to RBE partner Tony Jost on receiving the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America.  Tony was formally presented with the award on Saturday, January 13th at the 2018 University of Scouting event.

The Silver Beaver Award was introduced in 1931 and is a council-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America.   Upon nomination by their local Scout Council and with the approval of the National Court of Honor, recipients of this award are registered adult leaders who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the Council.  The Silver Beaver is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. It is given to those who do not seek it. It is the highest award a local Council can present to an adult Scouter.

Tony has been active with Scouting in some capacity since he was a Cub Scout.  He earned his Eagle Scout in 1984 in Kokomo, Indiana and has carried those values with him through his entire life.  He stayed active through college and joined first the Wabash Valley Council for four years and has been involved with the Crossroads of America Council for over twenty years in an advisory role, putting his education in law to use for the cause he believes so deeply in while chairing the Council’s Risk Management Committee.   He has been a Cubmaster for over 11 years in Pack 504 in Speedway Indiana, where his sons Thomas, Ethan and Lucas began their Scouting career.  Tony has continued on into Boy Scouting as a member and leader of Troop 97.  During that entire time, he has helped the Cub Scout pack grow and go with youthful energy and exceptional leadership.  Tony is always looking for ways to entwine the core values and principles of Scouting. Tony has also successfully worked with several committee chairs to engage parents in leadership positions and help adults grow with their boys through the Scouting program.

Tony often will say that his time in Scouting as a youth provided him with the success he has had in his life and one can see his gratitude in the way he serves not only Scouting but all who come in contact with him.  He represents Scouting and its values not only while he wears the uniform, but as he lives his daily life.  Riley Bennett Egloff LLP is proud to recognize its long-time partner, Tony Jost, for being presented with the Silver Beaver Award.
